CELLIST Julian Lloyd Webber has been appointed patron for the next two seasons of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s BSO Vibes scheme.
This is the young persons’ membership scheme and Julian Lloyd Webber’s aims and objectives are to promote classical music to young people.
“I am delighted to become the first patron of BSO Vibes,” he said. “This scheme is a fantastic way for young people across the south and south west to engage with a world class symphony orchestra.
“I have a huge personal interest in education through classical music and audience development and I am delighted to be involved with the exciting growth of BSO Vibes in the coming years.”
Julian Lloyd Webber will be at Lighthouse Poole on October 24 to give a masterclass and take part in the first BSO Vibes event of the season.
There will be guest appearances from Tasmin Little, James MacMillan, Kirill Karabits, Benjamin Grosvenor, James Ehnes and Maxime Tortelier.
