Beautiful blooms in Laverstock

BEAUTIFUL blooms and fantastic fruit were on display as Laverstock Gardening Club held its annual show.
There were 19 horticultural classes covering cut flowers, potted plants, fruit and vegetables, and non-horticultural classes including flower arranging, cookery, photography and art.
The section winners were: Stuart Dennis – cut flowers and potted plants, Sue McCarthy – fruit and vegetables, Julie Dennis – flower arranging, Jo Drag – cookery, Moya Hill and Mike Gamble – photography, and Julie Dennis – art.
Julie Dennis also won the Top Vase class and the Silver Salver, which is awarded to the entrant gaining the most points in the show.
Mary Reardon won the Vegetable Collection, Mike Gamble was awarded Best in Show for a flowering potted plant and Rebecca Harwood Lincoln’s dahlias were declared the People’s Choice favourite exhibit.
