THERE has been a little sprucing up at Salisbury’s Sarum College ahead of one of its most important exhibitions of the year.

And Christine Nielsen-Craig, development and marketing director at the college, in the Cathedral Close, volunteered herself for the highest job on the list – painting the college flag pole using a cherry picker.

“It’s not part of my normal day job but it was such fun,” she said.

Sarum College’s Through a Glass Darkly exhibition brings together different styles of glass art to explore the long and evolving relationship between glass and spirituality.

It will be open to the public daily from Saturday, September 22 to Monday, December 3. Full details on the college website at sarum.ac.uk .
