Events on behalf of Lucy's Days Out
2:33pm Friday 7th September 2012 in News By Corey Ross
LOCAL charity Lucy’s Days Out has a whole host of upcoming events that people can get involved with.
The charity, which organises trips and treats for sick children and their families, will be holding its second annual balloon release at 3.30pm on September 23 at Choristers’ Green in the Cathedral Close from 2pm.
They are hoping to release 300 balloons in memory of Lucy Page, who died at the age of 12 after battling cancer for six years in 2010.
Balloon labels are on sale for £2 each by contacting Maria Horsfall on 01722 325485 and the buyer/finder of the balloon that travels the greatest distance will receive a prize.
The next event will be a Halloween party at Laverstock & Ford Sports Club on October 27. There will be a disco, face painting and games from 7pm to 11pm. Tickets are £5 each.
Indian restaurant Tandoori Nights in Amesbury are supporting the charity by donating 50 per cent of their profits from the proceeds of the evening on October 29. To book a table call the restaurant on 01980 626126.
On November 24 the Journal’s magazine Wiltshire Society is sponsoring a Christmas ball in aid of the charity at Milford Hall Hotel and a children’s Christmas party will be held at Michael Herbert Hall in Wilton on December 1.
The charity is also hoping to launch its new website on October 1.
