Fashion week returns

SALISBURY Fashion Week returns later this month and following on from last year’s hugely successful first event, organisers are promising this year’s will be even bigger and better.

The event will be a showcase for local retailers, with many more events planned across the city and an increase in the number of businesses offering their support and wanting to be involved.

Sponsored by Allum and Sidaway, Hox Brasserie, Da Vinci’s restaurant and Westover Group, and taking place from Thursday, September 27 to Wednesday, October 3, Salisbury Fashion Week begins with a glittering evening launch party at Salisbury Arts Centre.

Here, Salisbury’s fashion retailers will be showcasing the best of their autumn/winter 2012 collections on the catwalk, fashion-related businesses will be exhibiting their wares and popular local group The Imaginations will be performing live.

During the week a variety of local retailers will host their own events and workshops (many of which are free to attend) and there will be special promotions for everyone to enjoy.

Event highlights include a Designer Millinery Soirée with Madeleine Millinery on Friday, September 28, on the theme of A Day at the Races.

And on Saturday, September 29, the Old George Mall Shopping Centre will be dramatically transformed to host live catwalk shows and music throughout the day, with competitions and giveaways for those who visit.

Prince Cassius, men’s Fashion Blogger and one of GQ’s Best Dressed Men, will be returning to Salisbury and supporting Regent Tailoring with its men’s fashion event.

Organisers Catherine Dunning and Jayne Prigent said: “We’ve got some amazing events lined up and we want everyone to come and support them and enjoy being a part of it.

“We thank all the businesses involved, especially our sponsors and partners for helping to make Salisbury Fashion Week happen.”

Tickets for the grand launch event and millinery soirée are priced at £10 to include a welcoming glass of bubbly and canapés.

They can be purchased online at salisburyfashionweek.
