Dog owner cautioned after attack on boy

THE owner of a dog that attached a boy as he played basketball with his friends in a Salisbury park has come forward following an appeal in the Journal.

The 17-year-old boy was with six friends at the playing field at Ashley Road on August 20 when a small black dog attacked him, biting him on his hand and legs and ripping his clothing.

He needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

Following an appeal from police published in the Journal, a 47-year-old man came forward and admitted allowing a dog to cause injury while dangerously out of control in a public place.

He was given a police caution for the offence.
