Meeting to discuss Harnham community centre

A PUBLIC meeting is being held on Monday (September 17) to discuss how £300,000 should be spent in East Harnham .

The funding, which has come from developer Persimmon Homes, was due to be used for a new community centre in the area but a disagreement over whether there should be a centre at all has meant the money is still waiting to be used.

A recent survey carried out by the Osmund Fields and Rowbarrow Resident's Association (OFRRA) showed three quarters of local residents favoured the money being used to improve the existing local facilities instead.

But the East Harnham Community Association, which is in favour of the new centre, dismissed the results of the survey saying it had only been conducted in a limited area.

Matters on the agenda for the meeting, being held by OFRRA, at the Britford Memorial Hall in Downton Road at 7pm.
