A SCHEME being launched next month is asking for volunteers to befriend older people in Verwood.
Many older people in East Dorset are having their lives changed through contact with befriending schemes run in partnership by WRVS, NHS Dorset, Volunteer Centre Dorset, and Dorset Partnership for Older People’s Programme (POPP).
Volunteers can help in all sorts of ways – chatting over a cup of tea, doing some shopping, or even playing cards or word games – depending on what the person requires.
