SALISBURY Cathedral is to have three new canons.
Following an invitation from the Bishop of Salisbury, the Right Revd Nicholas Holtam, The Right Revd Andrew Chan, Bishop of the Diocese of the Western Kowloon (Province of Hong Kong) will be appointed a Sarum canon, Sam Price, headteacher of Godolphin School in Salisbury, will be installed as a lay canon, and the Revd Antony Macrow-Wood, team rector of North Poole Ecumenical will be installed as a non-residentiary canon. They will be welcomed during Evensong at 5.30pm on October 4.
The Dean of Salisbury, the Very Revd June Osborne, said: “They will bring us valuable experience from their specialism to our life and help the cathedral enormously with their advice and opinions.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have such a varied and impressive array of talent and knowledge in the college and we thank all existing canons too for the service they provide to the cathedral.”
