TRADITIONAL costumes, a needlework exhibition and game pies were all a part of the Downton Goose Fair held at St Laurence Church on Saturday.
The Michaelmas fair, which traditionally took place to celebrate the geese being fattened up for Christmas, helped raise £1,000 for the church.
John Bennett, who helped organise the event along with his wife, Patricia, and fellow volunteers said: “We had a jolly good day, it was lovely to see all the people coming into the church and enjoying themselves.”
