A SCHOOL has been recognised for its environmental efforts with a green flag award.
Woodlands Primary School children and staff have been hard at work to meet the standards required for the award from the Keep Britain Tidy Eco-Schools Programme.
Donna Richards, Eco Schools co-ordinator, said: “Everyone has worked extremely hard to achieve the award.
“It’s just fantastic. In Salisbury there are only a small handful of schools that have got a green flag.
“It’s been a long hard slog for the past three years but we got there.”
Two representatives from each year group come up with ideas to help the environment and they meet three times in each half term to review their progress and discuss what more they could do.
The pupils are now focusing on their next mission, which includes plans to build a bike shed.
