PAST and present pupils of St Osmund’s School in Salisbury joined together with families, governors and staff to mark the retirement of headteacher Mark Fowler, who spent 12 years at the school.

The school held a picnic in the grounds, organised by the Friends of St Osmund’s School, and each class presented the popular teacher with a book of memories during a whole school assembly.

Friends chairman Lisa Covill said: “The many gifts he was given over this time of celebration showed the love and gratitude felt by all those who had been influenced by him during his time as headteacher of the school.”

The school now welcomes Liz Jolly who joins them as headteacher from Holy Family School in Tower Hamlets. Mrs Jolly said: “I’m enjoying the change from East London to Salisbury and I’m very excited to be leading such a successful and caring school.”
