Grants available for youth volunteering projects

PROJECTS and groups that support young people in south Wiltshire can apply for grants from the area board for projects which encourage volunteering.

This year the Southern Wiltshire Area Board is promoting volunteering as one if its main priorities for the year.

At its meeting last Thursday, the area board agreed that the remaining £4,109 it has available for youth-related projects should be used to fund projects that encourage young people to become involved in their community.

Bids can be made from October 1 until December 1. Grants of up to £1,000 are available for groups or projects, which support young people and are linked to the area board’s volunteering theme.

Early in the new year the area board will invite young people to attend a special meeting where they will decide which projects should get the money.

For more information on how to bid contact community area manager Tom Bray on 01722 434252.

Bids can be made by completing an online form at surveymonkey.com/TC5SFJH.
