FANS of the supernatural can learn all about Salisbury’s ghoulish history in a new book by two local authors.
Writers and local historians Frogg Moody and Richard Nash have teamed up once again for Haunted Salisbury, which covers everything from the ghosts of the Haunch of Venison and the Odstock Curse to the Sarum Witch Trials and the spirits of Salisbury railway station.
Moody has researched and written about the history of Salisbury for more than 25 years and was presented with a personal achievement award from the British Association for Local History in 2012.
Nash has helped him produce books and exhibitions on Salisbury, produced booklets about his village and runs two websites on local history.
In their latest book the pair draw on historical and contemporary sources to examine some of the lively characters that are said to haunt the city.
The book, published by The History Press, comes out on Monday. The authors will be doing two book signings in the city – at Cross Keys Bookshop from 11.30am to 1.30pm on November 3 and at Waterstones from noon until 2pm on November 10.
