A BURGLAR armed with an axe forced his way in to a flat in Redlynch and demanded money from the householder.

A man wearing a scarf around his head broke in to the property in Orchard Road between 3pm and 3.30pm on Friday, September 14.

He demanded money from the female occupant but left empty handed, and police believe it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Outside the flat he met another man and they both left the area. The man who entered the flat is described as black, about 6ft 3ins tall, aged between 30 and 40.

His accomplice was white, around the same height and age, and he was either bald or had a shaved head. Wiltshire Police have released an efit of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

DC Amanda Warren said: “The victim was not injured but was extremely frightened by the ordeal and we need the help of the public to identify the men involved.”

Police would also like to hear from anyone who saw a silver or grey car being driven at speed in the area.
