Crematorium costs to rise by up to £100,000

REFURBISHING Salisbury’s crematorium will cost up to £100,000 extra after English Heritage stepped in at the last minute to list the building.
Salisbury City Council had been working on plans for the £2.29million refurbishment project for almost two years when English Heritage listed the building just two weeks before work was due to start.
A new planning application now has to be submitted, with changes to materials and finishes, and the project costs are expected to rise by £75,000 to £100,000.
