Reword for information leading to arrest of jewellery thieves
10:20am Tuesday 9th October 2012 in News By Journal Reporter
A £10,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of thieves who raided a home in Godshill.
Raiders broke into the house between 6pm and 10pm on September 26 and stole a safe containing a significant amount of expensive jewellery, including a Cartier watch, Dior earrings, an Art Deco watch and a 12.5 carat diamond.
Other items included a 2 carat diamond necklace made with variously shaped diamonds, earrings and other necklaces.
Police are appealing to all jewellers and buyers of jewellery to be aware of anyone who makes contact with them, offering to sell expensive looking jewellery.
Officers are also appealing for public assistance in helping them to identify the offender. A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “Did anyone pass through the village of Godshill in the times stated above and see a vehicle arrive or leave the area, possibly in a hurry? Has someone offered you expensive jewellery for sale or has someone you know suddenly shown you some expensive jewellery?”
Anyone with information can call Lyndhurst police station on 101 or the Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
