La Retraite Sisters to move on La Retraite Sisters to move on

THE Sisters of La Retraite are preparing to say farewell to Salisbury after being involved in the community for nearly 60 years.

The sisters have been living in a convent in Belle Vue Road for the past 27 years but the two remaining sisters, Patricia Talbot and Pauline Mahony, plan to move to Weston Super Mare in November.

Sister Patricia, a former headteacher at La Retraite Swan and Sister Pauline, have been long involved with the school, now Leehurst Swan, and hosted a range of activities within the Catholic community.

“It’s very sad to leave Salisbury, we’ve been involved in the community for so long, but we’re needed elsewhere,” said Sister Pauline.

“I’m sure we’ll be revisiting the school before we leave.”
