Achievements celebrated at St Joseph's
STUDENTS at St Joseph’s School in Salisbury were honoured for their achievements at a celebration evening held at the school on Wednesday.
Pupils who have excelled in their schoolwork and in their personal accomplishments were recognised at the prize giving evening.
Addressing the children and their parents, headteacher Paul Hughes said: “At St Joseph’s we have to say mediocrity is never good enough. “And tonight we celebrate and acknowledge the young people here who have strived for and achieved excellence.
Among those given awards were head boy and girl Tom Humphreys and Katrina Darg-Forsyth and their deputies Harvey Spencer-Smith and Emily Milner.
Prizes for the best performances in key stage 3 and 4 went to Adam Welfare and Molly Heath.
Other awards included: English Speaking Union Certificate, Charles McGrath; O’Boyle Maths Prize, Katrina Darg-Forsyth; Endeavour Shield, Jacob Ruddle; Governors’ Effort Prize, Jake Salter; John Eadie Sports Cup, Emily Milner; The Hambly Trophy, Ryan Power; Laverstock Parish Council Civic Responsibility Cup, William Stott; The Catenian Achievement Cup, Michael Hurford.
