A SKIN cancer prevention campaign for teenagers has been launched by Wiltshire College Salisbury.

Beauty students at the college will work with NHS Wiltshire to deliver the Love Your Skin campaign to other students at the college.

The campaign centres on the use of an ultraviolet facial scanner to assess skin damage. The aim is to help raise awareness of the potential for skin damage and the chance to offer young people general advice and guidance on how to maintain healthy skin.

Sarah Bird, skin cancer health improvement project officer with NHS Devon, delivered an initial two-hour training session to the beauty students last Wednesday.

The new scanner will be launched at the Wiltshire College open evening on November 15 and there will be further opportunities for clients of the Aspire beauty salon at the college to have their skin scanned.
