Spooky Saturday

CHILDREN can make bats-on-a-stick and creepy crawly sweets on Saturday (October 27) when the River Bourne Community Farm holds its Spooky Saturday.

Artist Charlotte Moreton will be leading bat-making workshops from 10am to noon and from 2pm to 4pm (workshops cost £8 for adults and £5 for children), while from 12.15pm to 1.45pm, children can make scary sweets with Ana Ortiz of Cocinemos Cookery Club (cost £4 per child/siblings £3).

A farm supper consisting of homemade pumpkin soup and savoury scones will be available from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at a cost of £4 (orders need to be given in advance).

Visitors are invited to bring along their own pumpkins to the supper, where farm staff will help those wishing to carve them ready for Halloween.

And the farm will be selling traditional farm-reared pork from 9.30am to 5.30pm which can also be sampled as a hotdog from the farm barbecue taking place from midday.
