This week's painting being auctioned for charity is an oil on canvas painting entitled 'Cathedral Light' by Salisbury artist Brian Hodgson.

The painting depicts the cloisters at Salisbury cathedral and measures 16 x 12 inches.

Brian works from his studio in Fisherton Mill, Salisbury. A three-year stay in Kenya inspired his recent body of work which explores the effects of light on the landscape and which has been exhibited in galleries around England. The item for auction is one of a series of 16 oil paintings of light in the cloisters of Salisbury Cathedral.

The proceeds of the auction will go to support the work of the Naomi House Hospice and the Jennifer Trust.

As Brian has donated this painting, all the money raised will be passed directly to the charities.
