Jenkinson recital

Simon Hogan, Salisbury Cathedral's talented Organ Scholar, gives the annual prestigious Jenkinson Recital in the Cathedral on Wednesday May 21 at 7.30pm playing a wide-ranging programme of music by Bach, Cochereau, Eben, Liszt, Spicer and Vierne. Tickets, £8.00 are available online via www.salisburycathedral.org.uk or at the door.

750 Musical highlights

Elgar's Dream of Gerontius (May 17) - Salisbury Musical Society (SMS) is singing two performances with the Berlin Philharmonischer Chor in May, one in Berlin and the second in the Cathedral on the 17.

Southern Cathedrals Festival (SCF)

This year's SCF (July 16 to 20) is hosted by Winchester Cathedral and features the choirs from Chichester, Salisbury and Winchester Cathedrals.

On Saturday, March 29, hundreds of brave teddies parachuted from a raised platform manned by members of Salisbury Fire Brigade's Red Watch by the Cathedral's West Front for the Mayor's Appeal.

Salisbury Cathedral Junior Choir gave a wonderful concert on March 15 for their families, friends and supporters before moving into the Cloisters for a fund-raising coffee morning, cake sale and raffle.

Lt Col Mike Gallagher, Assistant Secretary of the Friends of Salisbury Cathedral, will have handed over the reins to his successor, Mrs Lizzie Rowe, at the end of April.
