Cathedral
Book boost
The Cathedral Education Centre has received a welcome boost to their stockpile of resources recently.
Sarum Decorative and Fine Arts Society (DFAS) have kindly donated splendid books all about different aspects of art, to help the Education Centre in their delivery of educational programmes to visiting groups.
Sally Vaughan, a member of Sarum DFAS and also a volunteer with the Education Centre explained: "The Society is very keen to support work with young people and art and we are very fortunate to be in the position of sometimes being able to assist organisations who do this valuable work".
Sarah Rickett, Head of Education, was delighted with the support: "We would like to thank Sarum DFAS for their generosity. The books are going to be very useful.
"One of the books features photographs of gargoyles and gothic statuary, which will give plenty of ideas to groups who come and see our Cathedral's gargoyles and then make their own out of clay.
"Another book describes projects for artwork with children which we will dipping into regularly. We are just so pleased that Sarum DFAS thought of us".
