Women signing up for Salisbury’s Race for Life this summer got some pink pampering from Wiltshire College hair and beauty students.

Level 1 hairdresser Hannah James and Level 2 beauty students Kirsten Stephenson and Charlotte Pinhorn joined representatives from Cancer Research UK outside Old George Mall shopping centre on Saturday, May 9, as the charity launched registration for its 5km race which takes place in July.

Having put their skills to the test ahead of the event at the College’s Aspire salon, the students offered face painting and nail transfers as well as painting nails pink to all those signing up.

They were joined by Aspire hair salon manager Sarah Cookson and beauty salon manager Nandani Jayasekera.

Nandani said: “It was great to be involved and the girls were very busy working on lots of clients, keeping to the Race for Life theme.

“It was also an opportunity for us to let people know about our salons and we handed out lots of leaflets and price lists.

“The girls enjoyed it so much that they have now decided to take part in the actual race.”

The Race for Life in Salisbury takes place on Sunday, July 12, at 11am.
