A TEAM of hairdressers will be trekking across the Sahara desert to raise money for two local charities this month.

Six members of staff from Jas Hair’s Salisbury and Wilton salons and Henri Lupi-Lawrence, owner of Henri’s the Barbers in Castle Street, will face 40 degree heat during the day and plunging temperatures at night as they trek 100km in ten days.

Mr Lupi-Lawrence is raising money for Lucy’s Days Out the charity set up by the parents of Lucy Page to fund trips and days out for sick children and the Jas Hair team are supporting Salisbury District Hospital’s Stars Appeal Pembroke Unit fund.

Jayne Prigent from Jas Hair said: “The team are really looking forward to this challenge of a lifetime. Training has gone well even with feet full of blisters.

“It’s so wonderful to be able to do this for two great local charities that will make a difference for local people.”
