A PIANO accordion is to be delivered to a church in Sudan by two young men who are driving there from a village near Salisbury.

Ed Holford-Walker and Humphrey Teakle set off from Alvediston on Monday to drive to Cape Town, aiming to raise money through the four-month journey for forces charity Combat Stress and TUSK, which funds conservation and community projects in Africa.

And while they are away they are to deliver the piano accordion to Wau in Southern Sudan as a gift to the Episcopal Church of Sudan from Salisbury following a visit by Bishop Moses Deng to the diocese earlier this year.

Bishop Deng said his church regularly overflows with people but they have no musical instruments to accompany their singing.

Mr Holford-Walker, 23, from Alvediston, and 21-year-old Mr Tuckle, who is from the USA but is studying in the UK, will cover 15,000 miles and visit 20 countries during their trip.
