A NURSE from Salisbury ran the New York Marathon to raise £600 for Salisbury District Hospital’s Stars Appeal.
Tracey Badham, 48, trained for 16 weeks before the marathon which took place on Sunday, November 4, and completed it in 4hrs and 17mins.
Mrs Badham, who is a practice nurse at New Street Surgery, ran her third marathon with a friend from Auckland.
“Two years ago we did the Auckland Marathon and we said we would meet in New York,” she said. “We just decided that life’s too short and that we would do it and we’ve said perhaps we’ll see each other in two years and do another one.”
“It went very well and I think I’m on track for my £600 target; patients have been very generous and the surgery has been supportive.”
