A SALISBURY-BASED sports massage therapist has run two half marathon to support a mental health charity.

Luke Chitty ran the New Forest and Salisbury Half Marathons and raised £528 for Sarum Counselling, which provides professional, cost-effective, supervised counselling for individuals and couples in Salisbury and the surrounding area.

He said: “Although there are many national charities for mental health, I wanted to support a cause where I knew the money would go directly to those in need in the local area and there was a bonus for me too in becoming much fitter with all the hours of training for the marathons.”

Caroline Griffiths, vice chairman at Sarum Counselling, has thanked Mr Chitty for his efforts on behalf of the charity and said the money raised would support the charity’s work in providing vital help to people going through difficult times in their lives.
