A CHILDREN’S centre volunteer from Tisbury is taking on a sponsored walk to raise money to enhance an outside space at the centre.

Mother-of-four Valerie Ridout is walking from Tisbury to Shaftesbury on March 24 with her eldest daughter to raise money for Tisbury Children’s Centre, which works in partnership with Wiltshire Council.

“We’ve been given some land by the centre and we’re raising money to buy some equipment for the children so it’s somewhere they can get out and play,” said Mrs Ridout.

She lives in Tisbury with husband Andy, daughters Sophie, 15, and Carina, 13, and sons Reo, two, and eight-monthold Aaron, and she has been using the centre for nearly three years.

“The centre is amazing and free, which you don’t get a lot these days. Everybody just helps each other out and it’s a really nice place to go,” she said.

Donations can be made at the centre in Weaveland Road and Mrs Ridout and her daughter will be carrying collection
