A DOGGY Fun Day held at the Joules store in Salisbury raised more than £400 in aid of the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre at Newton Tony.
The Joules Take the Lead window campaign featured cardboard cut out dogs and when customers started asking about buying them, staff came up with the idea of raising money for the charity.
“I realised there was a real opportunity here,” said store manager Sandy Ince. “So we thought why not run a sealed bidding auction of the dogs to raise money for our local Dogs Trust instead? And the response has been fantastic.”
Joules stores across the region donated their cardboard dogs to the auction, which raised an impressive £440 alongside a doggy fun day at the store. Jo Blake, supporter relations officer at the Dogs Trust, joined the team at the event along with Titan, an 18-month-old English bull terrier being looked after at the centre.
