WILTSHIRE Wildlife Trust held its annual meeting on Saturday, October 20 and took the time to thank its volunteers with a Volunteer of the Year awards 2012.

Young volunteer of the year was awarded to Richard Cureton, who assists with the Sarsen Trail and in the volunteer office.

Monica Blake was given the lifetime achievement award for her dedication of over 40 years as a volunteer. Monica is secretary of the Chippenham local supporters’ group, encouraging new members, particularly young people, to get involved.

Volunteer of the year was Les Lipscombe, who is one of the leaders of the Salisbury wildlife group and inspires all ages and abilities to get involved with conservation.

The waste prevention volunteers were named volunteer group of the year for highlighting issues and informing people of how little we each need to do to make a huge impact on the environment.
