From the Meeting held on March 6 in the Memorial Centre.
COMMON Road has been resurfaced and the pseudo footpath is now in place. It has been agreed to ask Wiltshire Council Highways for more pedestrian emblems to be marked along the path, including where it crosses Croft Heights.
* It was agreed to enter the Best Kept Village competition this year.
* The council is aware that signage has been removed at the entrance to Newton Lane on the A36. Wiltshire Council is investigating.
* Speed checks have commenced and it is hoped to increase the frequency of checks in order to encourage safer driving in the village. It is hoped that Speedwatch warning signs will also assist in reducing traffic speed.
* The application for a grant from Whiteparish Short Mat Bowls Club towards equipment to set up a fourth rink mat for use in the Memorial Centre was agreed.
* It was agreed to renew the annual membership to the Society of Local Councils and Clerks.
* It was agreed to renew the annual membership to the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
