THERE was a good attendance at the annual meeting of Laverstock Evening WI held recently in the village hall.
The table flowers were arranged by Carol Curtis and the meeting was chaired by Jill Kay.
Thelma Green gave the secretarial report and Maureen Smith told the meeting the finances are in good order. The committee was thanked by Jill for their support throughout the past year.
Pat Chilton and Margaret Eyres organised the election for the committee. Jill Kay was elected for a further term as president with Jo Osgood joining the committee.
The skittles team had completed their matches and the Scrabble team had two more matches arranged in April. The craft, book and lunch groups are thriving and Carol Curtis volunteered to organise the garden group.
Flowers were given to Val Fallon, Nancy Joyce and Jill Kay.
As it was St Patrick’s Day an Irish quiz and bingo were held, and much enjoyed, along with coffee and cake.
Due to the Easter weekend, members are reminded that the next meeting is at River Bourne Community Farm at 7.45pm on Friday, April 25.
