THE Morgan’s Vale, Woodfalls and Redlynch branch of the Royal British Legion has had an active winter organising events and raising funds for charity and welfare.

In addition to the successful local community Poppy Appeal collection the branch also made a substantial donation towards that appeal.

Likewise, Wiltshire county welfare received a further donation to help with their work in the county.

The branch has received an efficiency award for the work completed during the past year.

However, the main award in the county went to one of our members.

Thelma Marsh, from Lover, has been a branch member for 14 years.

During this time she has held two key appointments within the branch - Poppy Appeal organiser and the treasurer; two demanding tasks, which she completed to the highest standard.

For this service Wiltshire County RBL has awarded her a certificate of commendation.

The county vice-chairman Alan Ashman presented this at the branch annual dinner.

The branch is now preparing for a busy summer.
