NINETEEN members and visitors attended the May meeting of Dinton WI held at Dinton Village Hall.

The president, Sue Taylor, welcomed everyone to the meeting.

The group of members who were awarded first prize in a competition to create a miniature garden held by Three Valleys WI in South Newton, were congratulated.

Sue read out the WI Resolution relating to organ donation calling on every member of the WI to make their wishes regarding organ donation known and to encourage their family and friends to do likewise.

Members voted unanimously in favour of the resolution, which will now go to a final vote at the annual meeting in Leeds on June 7.

Discussions of events taking place in the future followed, including a visit to Wilton Garden Centre.

The speaker was Mike Strong, the Wiltshire Online project manager who spoke about Digital Champions.

He explained that one of the aims of Wiltshire Online was to help adults improve their confidence with technology by providing free computer support from volunteers.

Mike also told members about a laptop refurbishment scheme whereby used laptops are offered for sale by Age UK and Care and Support Wiltshire.
