OUR next meeting is on June 12 and is a departure from our usual format.

We are asking members to bring along a couple of bottles of what they consider to be real value for money, or a wine that is unusual and might be of interest.

Details of each purchase (including the retailer) should be sent to Mark Brandon in advance so tasting sheets and some brief background notes can be prepared.

The wines will be set out in order (white to red and dry to sweet) and members will be asked to score each wine out of four (one = ugh, two = ok, three = good, four = fantastic).

You can still attend if you don’t want to buy wine.

Not everyone is confident in their purchasing ability, which is often why they come to our meetings in the first place.

The price is £15 per head for members and £20 per head for guests.

If you would like to become a member the annual fee is £25 or £40 for a couple.

Why are we charging for an event where you bring the bottles? To keep our club bank account positive and help save towards another great Christmas ‘do’.

Our members are a friendly crowd and always make guests and new members welcome.

Do join us at the Mercure White Hart on Thursday, June 12 at 7.15pm.
