ON June 12, Revd Dr Graham Southgate gave the WI members and their guests a very interesting and informative talk on the history and peculiarities of Fovant Church.
The balmy summer evening afforded a pleasant walk from the village hall up to the church, where Judy Snowdon had kindly arranged to serve tea and coffee. Dr Southgate imparted many fascinating facts about the building, from the various additions and alterations which have taken place through the ages to some hidden artefacts and the mason's marks carved into the exterior stone. Later we gathered back at the hall for a light supper.
The next meeting is tonight and the guest speaker is Clare McNaughton who will take a humorous look at being a 'military mother'. It will also be our third anniversary so do come along and help us celebrate with cake and friendly conversation.
