AN athletics programme for youngsters is coming to Tidworth next week.

Children aged eight to 14-years-old can develop their sporting skills in a variety of sports at Tidworth Oval, Bulford Road from Tuesday to Friday.

Qualified coaches will be teaching the disciplines of javelin, high jump, long jump, hurdles and sprinting.

There will also be a chance to compete in relays, warm-up games and score points in a modern day decathlon.

All sessions, which are being held by Wiltshire Council, run from 10am to 3pm.

PLENTY of fun-filled activities will be enjoyed at Newton Tony Fete on Bank Holiday Monday.

On show will be steam engines, a dog display and show, alpaca show, fire engines, vintage cars and tug-of-war.

Plus, there will be pony rides, beer tent, barbecue, afternoon teas, clay shoot, car boot sale, craft and book stalls, bouncy castle and face painting.

The fun starts at 1.30pm.

Adults are charged £1 while children go free.

RESIDENTS in Cholderton are preparing for their monthly meeting for the Book Group.

The group, which meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month, are meeting on Wednesday at Lilac Cottage, Grateley Road.
