THE Indian community of Salisbury held their first social event on August 15 at Laverstock Village Hall.
The meeting was started with a welcome address by Harshad Dabke, an orthopaedic surgeon at Salisbury District Hospital.
The chief guest of the event was Vinod Desai, chairman of Artasia in Southampton.
Sameer Anthony compered the meeting.
There were entertainment programmes including bingo, a musical chairs competition for children and adults, and a buffet vegetarian dinner from Sangeetha Restaurant, London, followed by a disco.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Sridhar Sampalli, also an orthopaedic surgeon at the hospital.
