THE new season started on Monday, September 22 and will concentrate on English music.
Michael Salmon asked “Is this another English renaissance?” and played music by Hawes, Nyman, Mitchell and Parry.
Ed Tinline, joint chairman of the society, said: “We have an interesting programme this season which includes the film music of Shostakovich and Prokofiev, the saxophone as an orchestral instrument and we will also be delighted to welcome EM Marshall-Luck of EM Records who will be presenting an evening on premieres of distinction.”
The society meets every fortnight in the music room to the rear of the Guides’ Centre in St Ann Street. The society has also launched a new website which can be seen at www.salisburyrms.org.
It will have details of the society's activities, the programme and reviews of the music played and where it meets.
