Salisbury Embroiderers’ Guild had two excellent and very different meetings in September.
The first meeting was a talk from Karen Perry from John James Needles on the history and use of needles.
It was fascinating to discover how many different types of needles are manufactured and how to choose the correct needle for sewing projects.
The second talk was called My Journey through Stitch by a young award-winning embroiderer, Kirsty Whitlock.
Kirsty works with recycled and reclaimed materials focusing particularly on paper manipulation and embroidery. In October, the meeting on Thursday 9 was the AGM.
It was followed by a practical session, making Christmas decorations for our tree in the St Thomas’s Christmas Tree Festival.
Yesterday members continued this at Brome House, Godolphin School.
New members are always welcome at our meetings.
