VICE-president Anne Rasey opened this month’s meeting. After singing Jerusalem members went straight into the presentation by guest speaker, Peter Knight, who gave a PowerPoint presentation about The Cerne Giant, White Horses and the stars.
Did you know that there are more hill figures in Wiltshire than in any other county?
This was a fascinating talk, all about looking at familiar features through new eyes.
In particular members looked at the Cerne Giant, who he linked to the stars and to Orion in particular.
Peter made his subject very thought-provoking and amusing.
After refreshments and conversation members moved on to the business part of the meeting.
They were reminded that the next meeting will be a hands-on handicraft session and members were asked to choose their activities in advance. This meeting will be held on November 13 at Antrobus House and everyone is most welcome to attend.
