PRESIDENT Ann Sammons welcomed members and thanked everyone for their help at the jumble sale.
It had been very successful and the membership voted to support two charities with the proceeds this year. Ann gave special thanks to Isobel for her help at the end of the sale. Best wishes went to Elsie who we hope to see back with us again soon.
Venues for a Christmas lunch were discussed and the committee hope to have confirmation of where and when by our next meeting.
Due to ill health our speaker Nick Gilbert had to cancel his talk on dahlias.
The committee managed to quickly arrange a music and general knowledge quiz. As always, our members are a clever lot but the winning team this time was Maureen, Dorothy, Pam and Molly.
There were birthday flowers and best wishes for Frances, Sue and Veronica.
The next meeting at the village hall will be Wednesday, November 12 at 2.15pm and new members will be made very welcome. Our talk will be ‘The History of 999’.
