Best Kept Village THE chairman welcomed Peter Claydon, representative of the CPRE, who presented the certificates and £100 cheque won by Whiteparish in the Best Kept Village 2014 competition.

Whiteparish was first in the large village category of the South Wiltshire round and second in the county.

He said the competition is run partly to raise awareness of CPRE and its campaign to protect and enhance our countryside for the benefit of everyone.

This year it was sponsored by Hills Group. He handed out leaflets, encouraging individuals to join the CPRE, of which the parish council is already a member.

Anyone interested in joining can contact Peter Claydon: rosandpeterclaydon @btinternet.com.
