HAPPY New Year from everybody at The Onward Stroke Club.

In September our pub lunch was at The Wheatsheaf, Lower Woodford. This was followed in October by a visit from Alec and Graham who gave a demonstration and talk on the art of bonsai.

Also in October we welcomed back Fred for his Fun Quiz II – which was exactly what it said on the tin! Our November visitor was Gary Turner for a singalong, including several Christmas songs.

December started with our Christmas lunch at the Rose and Crown. A record 47 of us enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch, organised for us by Carol and Maria. A very jolly affair, although our celebrations were tinged with sadness as we raised our glasses to Anna Lomax, a long-time helper at the club, who passed away earlier this year. The term was rounded off the following week at our Christmas party, with entertainment from Jill, Camilla, Jenny and Annabelle, and a visit from Santa Claus with gifts for everybody.

The club meets on alternate Thursday mornings in Salisbury and our new term starts on January 8. More information can be found at theonwardclub.co.uk or contact Linda on 01980 862367.
