The Salisbury and South Wiltshire English Speaking Union were grateful to Sarah Buttenshaw who stepped in at the last minute to give a delightful and flowing talk on Spitzbergen and the Arctic at the Christmas meeting.
Sarah, a qualified experienced and practising radiographer, is also a skilled photographer with particular interest in rural scenes and wildlife.
She has a great love of the Artic which she has visited several times and this formed the basis of her illustrative talk which enthralled the members.
This was then followed by a traditional Christmas lunch.
A reminder that the Branch Final of ESU Churchill Public Speaking Schools Competition will be held on Thursday, 15th January at Bishop Wordsworth's School.
Both South Wilts Grammar and Bishop Wordsworth's Schools participating in the event.
