THE Salisbury Bonsai Society’s first meeting of the year saw members carve breeze blocks to resemble mountains and rocky planters for their Bonsai trees.
There was lots of noise and dust and chat. Clive got us started by showing us a mountain scene he had created.
With Clive’s encouragement and the use of a drill, planting holes were created in the breeze blocks.
Grahame followed with a smaller drill to deepen and smooth out the excavations.
We set to, and using saws and chisels, finished our new planters.
Members went home very pleased with their work.
The tree of the month was won by Mike Able with Val Casey coming second.
Our next meeting will be on February 2 in Laverstock Village hall at 7.45pm.
All are welcome.
