FIRST of all, a happy and a healthy New Year to you all.

We thoroughly enjoyed the panto in Salisbury and having a meal together afterwards – we thought the panto was the best ever and watching the young children join in was great fun.

Our Christmas meeting get together was enjoyed by all and a good start to the festive period – mind you, I think we put on a few pounds that evening!

Our January meeting was Eric Watson on Wild Flowers at Your Doorstep and a very interesting and enlightening evening it was too.

The slides were so colourful and picturesque and he took us through the year showing us the wild flowers which bloom each month.

He also had a good sense of humour and imparted much information. On January 19, members from all the local WIs will be meeting at Godshill Village Hall to see the baton arrive and then to be passed onto the Ringwood group.

This baton has been travelling all around Britain to celebrate our 100 year anniversary.

We have a lot of future events including the Hampshire Spring Council meeting at Portsmouth, the Fordingbridge Group’s Spring meeting, our own WI’s birthday meal and lunch in a garden centre.

We shall be holding a coffee morning on Friday, March 27 at 8 Alexander Road and everyone will be very welcome.

Our next meeting is on Monday, February 9 when Ian Newman will talk to us about Around Fordingbridge.

We are a small, friendly group and, if you would like more information about coming to a one-off meeting or joining us, please don’t hesitate to contact either Anne on 01425 655192 or Dot on 01425 652604.
