Community

Villagers are invited to come and meet their parish councillors and find out what the council does at the annual parish meeting on Tuesday, March 24 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Centre. Everyone is welcome.

Post Office

The Post Office is in discussion with the postmaster about possibly changing the White- parish branch to one of its new local branches.

The parish council has supported the proposed changes to the post office. This is on the understanding given by the members of the public present, who are also members of the shop committee, that work would start on building a new shop in or around two years’ time.

Dog Mess

The parish council is still receiving complaints about dog mess and we urge all dog owners to clear up any mess made by their dogs and that this waste is not hung in bushes or trees. Please dispose of it in the nearest litter bin.

Parochial Church Council

It was agreed to assist the PCC with financial assistance towards grass cutting of the churchyard.

South Wiltshire Paths Group

Wiltshire Council runs a volunteer working party to help improve public paths in South Wiltshire. They take place in the local southern area and are usually on the first Monday of the month.

Are you a keen walker, do you use the rights of way and have a couple of hours to spare once a month?

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Maria Pennington, Parish Clerk or Abby Sullivan, volunteer co-ordinator, South Wiltshire Paths Group at info@southwilts pathgroup.co.uk. Your help would be very much appreciated.

Next Meeting

The next Meeting will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 7.30pm. Villagers are invited to attend the meetings. Please inform the clerk Maria Pennington (01722 711858) or any councillor if you are unable to attend and wish to raise any village matter.
